I'm posting this because the Geezer just hasn't gotten the hang of the personal computer yet. :-) Enjoy...

Good Afternoon Fellow Patriots…
Union of Patriots hasn’t been napping. Last week on Monday 5-2 at the Leavenworth County Republican Party Town Hall Meeting I had the pleasure of meeting our new secretary of the Kansas SRS (Social & Rehabilitative Services), Mr. Siedlecki. He presented an overview of administrative initiatives which Governor Brownback believes should be implemented with all available speed. Two of the general propositions stood out as both important and urgent in my judgement.
1.) A revision of SRS policy regarding how illegal alien parents with children born in the U.S. are evaluated for eligibility of benefit under SRS rules shall undergo major revision. In short, as of 7-1-11, illegals will no longer be treated better than legitimate residents. It’s not the entire answer but it’s a start. Immigration bill HB2372 will come up again in the 2012 session which will expand and complete the effort. Let’s make sure it is passed!
2.) The secretary promised a serious look at how best to remedy the abuses currently going on in the child and family services section of SRS. The waste of money there is a big deal. However, I am entirely persuaded that the blatant abuse of power and incomprehensible injustice being perpetrated on decent Kansas citizens is by a wide margin the greater evil resulting from the manner which we attempt to “protect” Kansas children.
The other initiatives previewed were at a minimum lesser consequence and possibly unsupportable. The jury is still out. You may view the secretary’s entire speech at Lvncounty.com (org?). Please scrutinize it carefully and post your thoughts at U of P website and Political Chips.
On the eve of 5-3 Steve Shute and I were present in Hutchinson to visit the Patriot Freedom Alliance.
On Thursday 5-5 Mark Rinke and I went down to visit folks in Pittsburg Kansas.
On 5-6 I went to Columbia, MO and met with a local Tea Party group.
So, for the week we logged something on the order of 1,000 miles. We let a substantial number of people know about The Union of Patriots and our up-coming RINO Retirement Dinner (6-22-11) and I feel confident made a number of valuable acquaintances.
Folks: This conservative momentum that has developed over the last couple of years is a peculiar phenomenon indeed. We have no single charismatic leader for the opposition to focus on or demonize, from which they seem to take a false sense of superiority. I am beginning to find the opposition’s attitude of dismissiveness almost amusing.
If I have the good sense to recognize what I’m seeing I would describe it as follows:
The Lord Himself seems to be moving individuals all across the nation to assert themselves in support of the notion that our liberties are the direct gift of God for His purpose and to our benefit. He seems to be making us recall that it was he who created the fellowship of Patriotism which propelled this nation to its origin and has sustained us through all the hardships since encountered whether of our own making or brought about by our enemies.
I have no fear that God has or will abandon us. The grief or joy that we and our posterity suffer or rejoice in is wholly dependent upon His will – and our obedience.
Till next time, may God grant you each gentleness in your heart and peace in your mind.
Respectfully,
The Geezer
P.S. I think the opposition is horribly confused by the fact that we seem to be endowed with servants not leaders. What’d ya think?
