Over the weekend, we sent the above letter to Governor Sam Brownback regarding the acceptance of approximately $31.5 million in an Early Innovator Grant (EIG) in February of this year. In case you didn't know, this money was requested, and was granted by the federal government, explicitly to develop information systems infrastructure to support the implementation of state-run healthcare exchanges as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), otherwise known as ObamaCare.
Union of Patriots is vehemently opposed to ObamaCare, as well as the creation of any supporting systems that would be used in any way to facilitate its implementation. We have now passed our concerns, and the concerns of you, our members and supporters, on to the Governor.
In the coming days and weeks, you will be seeing a voluminous amount of supporting documentation, all of which is publicly available, which seems to support the conclusion that not only did Kansas (and Governor Brownback) know the purpose of the funds, but that their assertions that it will not be used for exchanges (or that Kansas will be able to control its use at all) are patently false. But we will allow all of you to decide.
Here is the Brownback letter, in its entirety. We hope to receive a response from the Governor sometime this week, and as soon as we do, we will let you know.
