Kansas Republican State Convention THIS WEEKEND! Union of Patriots is Backing Three Resolutions Posted by scshute — February 17, 2012 @ 10:29PM
Today (2/18), the Republican Party of Kansas will be meeting in Overland Park at the Sheraton Hotel to hold their Annual Convention. This is a big deal, not only because it comes just three weeks before the planned statewide presidential caucuses on March 10, but also because there will be elections for the National Committeeman and Committeewoman, as well as at least 4 resolutions that will be considered before the members of the State Committee.
The first resolution has to do with the rejection of the ICLEI/Agenda 21 Sustainable Communities initiative. This is a resolution previously sponsored at the RNC level by National Committeewoman Helen Van Etten, and should pass by a simple unanimous voice vote.
The second, third, and fourth resolutions are being termed "Freedom's Big Three Resolutions" to go with the "Freedom's Big Three" Union of Patriots/FairTax KC initiative for Kansas state government in the current legislative session. Union of Patriots enthusiastically SUPPORTS all three of these initiatives:
1) A resolution supporting the Triple Zero + 6.3 tax plan (sponsored by FairTax KC) and urging full implementation of the plan by January 1, 2013 (will be amended to read, "January 1, 2014").
2) A resolution strongly supporting Secretary of State Kris Kobach's efforts to combat illegal immigration and urging support of the bills currently in the Kansas Legislature to crack down on illegal immigration and to require state government contractors use E-Verify as a condition of receiving contracts with the state.
3) A resolution demanding that the Kansas state government cancel the KEES/Accenture contract and stop any current or future efforts to implement Obamacare in the state of Kansas.
If you can make it to Overland Park today to have your voice heard, PLEASE DO SO! The meeting starts at 1:30 and is open to the public. We look forward to seeing you there!
